Two-stage and Three-stage tumbling process

The machine uses an inbuilt micro dot projector for producing polishing heads with ceramic polishing particles and high hardness. The parts adopt carbon fiber, poly carbon and gold pad machines. The parts are fixed in the drum using threaded fasteners and pads. The Ceramic Polishing method used by this machine is similar to the method used by the abrasive wheel method.

Ceramic polishing machine includes a two-stage and three-stage tumbling process. The first stage of tumbling is called pre-tumbling. This process includes removal of slag and loose dust from the surface. In the second stage, the polishing machine rotates the polishing head at high-speed to wear the surface. The polishing head is fixed on the solid work surface and a wire feed facilitates loading the pad into the machine.

Two types of finishing techniques

After the work area is cleared, it is now ready for the third stage of finish. The parts are now fitted back into the drum with a wire feed and pad retention clips. The ceramic media are used for final finishing. Ceramic Polishing machines are used for honing, cleaning and finishing both finished and unfinished metal parts, which include components using brass, bronze, copper and stainless steel as base materials.

There are two types of finishing techniques used in this technique: wet sand finishing and dry sand finishing. Wet sand finishing involves use of graphite particles as the polishing compound. They are dropped onto the workpiece and are grinded off with the help of rotating drums. Dry sand finishing uses limestone or granite chips as the Ceramic Polishing compound. These chips are manually set onto the workpiece. A combination of one or two wet and dry sand finishing techniques can be used to attain desired finish.

Ceramic Polishing machines are used extensively in several industries across the globe. They are used in jet finishing, metal finishing, cabinet finishing and in a wide range of other processes such as electroplating of parts, gold plating, etc. Different types of ceramic media used in this technique include aluminum oxide, boron nitride, calcium oxide, copper oxide, cobalt oxide, indium oxide, manganese oxide, iron oxide, magnesium oxide, silicon oxide, tungsten oxide, zinc oxide, etc. These different types of media have different properties and are used accordingly for appropriate finishing media.
